Barton Hills tree blooming in Spring
Back in 1956, Barton Hills was deemed the “largest air-conditioned suburb in the world” for the Austin Parade of Homes. Growth took off after that. And it’s a sought-after community to this day.
Barton Hills Location
Situated in some hills and almost enveloped by greenbelt to the north, south and west, Barton Hills gets very little through traffic. Just north of it is Zilker Park. In the community is a “corner” store and a dry cleaner.

More homes are ranch style than in its neighbor to the east, Zilker, which has more of a mix of styles.
